And you thought the UK had seen bad weather this year……..
Out in cinemas on the 4th April is the Hollywood blockbuster Noah, inspired by the biblical tale of Noah’s ark. Featuring an all-star cast including; Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson and Academy Award winner Russell Crowe as Noah; the man chosen by God for a divine mission to build an ark before the flood destroys the world, and wipes out all life.
In this far from overly religious film, Crowe, having seen a vision of an upcoming flood, takes measures to protect his family and sustain life on Earth for every animal by building an ark to house them from the impending deluge. The film sees himself and his family battle with, not only the elements, but also the moral dilemmas that he must inevitably face to ensure survival.
Directed by Darren Aronofsky, best know for Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream, and written by Aronofsky and Ari Hande. This epic sees the re-telling of the bible story whilst also pushing environmentalism, a cause obviously close to Aronofsky’s heart having banned all bottled water on set.
The estimated big budget of $130 million deservedly given to this apocalyptic movie has lead the way for some breathtaking visual effects and large scale battles, thus turning this clever adaption into a thundering success!
