Universal Monsters – The Essential Collection

Christmas wouldn’t be complete for film fans without a Blu-ray box set, and what better one than the Universal Monsters Essential Collection.  As sharp today as they were when first released at the height of Hollywood’s Golden Age of Horror, the set brings together eight of the best freak shows to grace the silver screen.

91h-fmta0l-_sl1500_Featuring Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, Phantom of the Opera and Creature from the Black Lagoon, the discs also include a host of extras, and come with a 48 page collectors booklet and set of movie poster art cards in the box.  Released in 2012 and still available on-line, the collection makes an interesting alternative to the traditional after dinner telling of Christmas ghost stories and ideal viewing for the long winter nights.
