A Boris Karloff Beanie Monster

41dywlpz6gl-_ac_ul320_sr240320_Boris Karloff – Hollywood’s undisputed King of Terror – who became known simply as ‘Karloff, The Uncanny’, is no longer with us.  That doesn’t mean though that his spirit, 41k-uvhq7nl-_sl500_aa280_or that of the monsters he gave life to in a string of classic chillers, don’t still haunt the world of cinema and film memorabilia.  Several years ago a company called Stuffins produced a series of beanie dolls based on the famous Universal Studio Monsters, including Dracula, The Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Wolfman, amongst others.  The best, and most sought after, though were undoubtedly The Mummy and Frankenstein’s Monster, made famous by Karloff  in the 1930s.  Though the creatures in the films may have been evil incarnate, these cuddly little terrors – which can still be found on eBay – will be guaranteed to elicit nothing but screams of delight from anyone, young or old, who finds one waiting for them under the tree on Christmas morning.
