Solo: A Star Wars Story! Does Harrison Ford Have A Good Feeling?
'Sound Bite' of the Week
Amongst mainly positive audience reactions and critic reviews yet disappointing Box Office returns, one unlikely fan of Solo: A Star Wars Story has emerged. Harrison Ford is rarely considered a fan of his own portrayal of the scruffy-lookin’ nerfherder, but apparently has nothing short of a good feeling about Alden Ehrenreich’s turn.
Speaking to MovieWeb, director Ron Howard reported that Ford, who has apparently seen the Solo movie twice, said that he “adores” the film.
“I had never heard Harrison [being] effusive about anything, and he was raving about it,” Howard elaborated. “He said, ‘Alden nailed it. He made it his own.’”
No one‘s ever heard Harrison Ford being effusive. It’s certainly encouraging to hear after the movie’s troubled production, which suffered high profile firings, re-hirings and, reportedly, dialogue coaching of the lead.
Solo: A Star Wars Story sees Han Solo (Ehrenreich) and his crew of smugglers run into trouble when they get into debt with organised crime figurehead Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany). Alongside new companion and walking carpet Chewbacca, smooth criminal Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), mentor Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson) and beau Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke), the crew attempts to steal a batch of valuable Coaxium from the mining planet Kessel.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is currently showing in cinemas.
