This week brought news of Daniel Craig’s return as 007 for the as-yet-untitled 25th installment in the Bond franchise. Previously, in a display of unabated passion and enthusiasm for what is arguably the most iconic and sought after film role of all time, Craig said…wait, what? He said he’d only return for the money? Licence To Kill revoked!

To be fair, Craig admitted to being a little undiplomatic in the past and was asked by The Late Show’s Stephen Colbert if this would be the last time he dons the tux; “I think this is it. I just want to go out on a high note and I can’t wait.”

it’s safe to say that he came in on a high note. Our introduction to Craig’s 007 in Casino Royale (2016) showed us that this Bond was a different beast; rough around the edges, not averse to taking a shortcut and the most physically intimidating incarnation so far. Most famously, whilst his adversary jumps over obstacles, Craig bulldozes through them. It’s a powerhouse performance and if we see a return, he may just get his licence reinstated.
