Trailer Park – Sicario: Day of the Soldado
The sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s 2015 Sicario, the clunkily-titled Sicario: Day of the Soldado has got some mightily big boots to fill. Along with Villeneuve’s masterful direction, Oscar-winner Roger Deakins’ cinematography made audience swoon one moment whilst recoiling the next. So, no pressure on director Stefano Sollima (TV’s Gomorrah) and cinematographer Dariusz Wolski (The Martian) then.
As the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border, federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin – who’s clearly taking over the world) calls on the mercurial Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro) to escalate the war in nefarious and (super stylish) ways. Of course, as Alejandro’s family fell victim to a cartel kingpin, he’s more than happy to oblige. But when they kidnap the kingpin’s daughter to ramp up the conflict, the two men begin to question everything they are fighting for.
Feast your eyes…
Sicario: Day of the Soldado hits cinemas on June 29th.
